For spring at La Mercerie, the beloved French café nestled within Roman & Williams Guild on Howard Street, we designed and installed seasonal container plantings to frame one of Manhattan's most quietly elegant outdoor dining experiences.
Clusters pots were composed with white tulips, flowering rosemary, catmint, hellebores, narcissus, and candytuft, layered against a backdrop of upright evergreens and flowering specimen trees just coming into leaf.
Now, the sidewalk feels less like a city street and more like a garden entrance— romantic and unhurried, drawing passersby off the pavement and into a slower pace. A curated softness against the dark facade, at once classic and alive with the particular lightness of a New York spring.
